Released Digantaye, building further on the success of his earlier recordings. The album became another significant milestone, showcasing his continuing development as a composer and recording artist.

The title track gained attention beyond Sri Lanka and was reported to have appeared on Radio Express's World Chart Show in Los Angeles. This achievement represented an important moment in the international exposure of his music and demonstrated the potential for Sinhala popular music to reach audiences beyond the island.

The Beginning of an Iconic Concert Journey

Launched the Ru Sanda Rae concert series at the Elphinstone Theatre in Colombo, alongside Chandralekha. The production brought together music, live performance and the artistic chemistry between the two performers.

What began as a concert series in Sri Lanka eventually travelled to international audiences, becoming one of the most recognisable live-performance projects associated with Rookantha and Chandralekha. Ru Sanda Rae would become an important part of their shared musical legacy.

First Brand Ambassador for Coca-Cola in Sri Lanka

Made Sri Lankan pop history in 1993 by becoming the first local musical artist signed as an official brand ambassador for Coca-Cola. The partnership launched the "Coca-Cola Rookantha Gee Senakeliya" concert series - a landmark nationwide tour and outdoor music festival that brought live stadium-level pop concerts to tens of thousands of fans across major cities, setting a new benchmark for corporate sponsorship in the local music industry.

The iconic live shows featured backing music by the famous Sunflowers Band, blending Rookantha's modern electronic synth sound with vibrant live instrumentation. The campaign also integrated mass-market promotion - television commercials, radio spots and collectible merchandise - proving Sri Lankan pop stars could anchor major corporate partnerships.

Taking the Music to the World

Entered an important international chapter of his career, continuing to perform with Chandralekha for Sri Lankan audiences living overseas.

Sharing Experience with Emerging Artists

Joined the judging panel of Youth with Talent – Generation Next, entering a new phase of his career in which experience and mentorship became central to his public role. Working alongside other established figures from Sri Lanka's entertainment industry, he became part of a platform focused on discovering and encouraging new musical talent.

In 2019, he joined Hiru Star as a judge, bringing decades of experience in composition, singing, recording and live performance to one of Sri Lanka's prominent televised singing competitions. Engaging directly with aspiring singers and assessing their performances from the perspective of an experienced artist.
